In search of heart-breaking fic
I'm looking for a heart-breaking Snape/Lupin story, the longer and angstier the better. I mean one that really tears your heart out and cuts it into pieces and jumps on it and boils the pieces up and ends that way. Come to think of it, other pairings would work too, Snape/Harry or Snape/Draco especially.

Anybody got a rec, or a fic of your own to share? It's not a subgenre I'm very familiar with :).

*eta* A little poking around has brought up On the Shoulders of Giants, so hopefully I will read that today and report back. Any others?

There's one by [info]snegurochka_lee, which I think is called Cheat. I felt bruised for days after I read it... it's Remus/Sirius, Remus/Severus. Warnings for infidelity and abuse, I think. (if I'm thinking of the correct one).

What about Rakina's Can't Escape the Poet's Fate or something? I think it's on Moonshadow. Remus is dying and he chooses to end his life at Snape's house. I think. I couldn't bring myself to do more than skim random chapters because of the doom. ;)

And yes, Mnem described Cheat.

love, lore

Lukewarm series http://juxian.slashcity.net/slash.html

She writes them so raw and realistic that I love her (and them) for it!

Busaikko's "Research & Development" series is long, and certainly has its share of angst, though it does end well.

Thank you! I have read that series and I love it to pieces - I think I'll go look at the rest of Busaikko's work and see if I can find more :)

Yay! I love Snegurochka though I haven't read all her stuff, so this is a great rec for me. Thank you so much.

Another recent one by Snegurochka Lee - actually, all her fics are good for angst - "The Blue Door." So good, it will give you ulcers.
